From the End of the Bench...

Updates from PIAA staff.

Happy New Year!

12/31/13

Where did the time go? It seemed like it was just yesterday and we were all concerned about Y2K and by moving to 2000 all computers would fail and we would have a mass technology mess. Well, we made it through that crisis and here we are in a few hours from 14 years later.

14 years may I remind you.

During that time, PIAA has seen great growth. We have seen the expansion of classes in many sports, the addition of sports and the initiation of competitive cheer.

It's funny in the education business, things take time to be implemented, or changed, but when they are they seem to stick. There are not "willy nilly" changes to change for change sake and that's a good thing, because it is the process that makes all of this work in education.

More importantly, many of the items are developed through a sense of fairness, the law and common sense. Ah yes, common sense. A sense that is sometimes not so common.

So there you have it. As we move into the New Year, we are all very thankful for our blessings and the beauty of interscholastic education, the oldest gifted program in the world.

Thank you for your support and involvement. Thank you for being a part of your local athletic program which is the greatest, most efficient and productive athletic program in interscholastic education. We are High School!

Interscholastic athletics; Where we tell a new story each and every day.

Happy New Year!
