The Williamsport Area School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Head Varsity Football Coach. The Head Varsity Football Coach is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the entire interscholastic football program (grades 7–12). The successful candidate will provide discipline, commitment, structure, and organization for all levels of the program.

This position requires the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of student-athletes while promoting strong academic standards, leadership, sportsmanship, and citizenship. The Head Varsity Football Coach will be expected to develop and maintain a comprehensive, vertically aligned football program by working collaboratively with the youth football programs, middle school staff, and high school coaching staff to ensure continuity, skill development, and shared expectations across all levels.

A clear and intentional vision for offensive, defensive, and special teams philosophy is an important component of this position, along with the ability to implement and communicate that vision throughout the program. In addition, the development, oversight, and implementation of a comprehensive weight training and strength and conditioning program is an essential responsibility of the Head Varsity Football Coach and critical to the long-term success and safety of student-athletes.

Previous head coaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate will be asked to assume the duties of the position as soon as possible.

 The Central York School District is seeking a Head Softball Coach to provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to build a successful and competitive softball program. This position is responsible for shaping the athletic and personal development of student-athletes by emphasizing skill improvement, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship. The coach plans and leads all practices, develops effective  game strategies, and prepares players for regular-season and postseason competition, while fostering a positive and respectful team culture.

JOB SUMMARY:
Promote, select, supervise and instruct student athletes in the sport. Coordinate, supervise, direct and help evaluate Assistant Coaches assigned to that sport.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Promote, select, supervise and instruct student-athletes on accordance with established District, Conference and PIAA standards and regulations. Team selection is subject to the Athletic Director’s review and approval.

-Know the rules of the game and instruct participants using current and appropriate coaching methods and strategies that promote good health and safety practices, physical fitness, sportsmanship, and skill development.

-Project a positive model for student-athletes, the general student body, and the community at large through appearance, positive attitude and enthusiastic personality, emotional maturity, self-control, leadership, planning, preparation and good sportsmanship.

-Maintain effective communications with students, parents, staff, administration, the media and higher institutions of higher education.

-Explain the expectations of the head coach to each assistant coach as it pertains to performance and the evaluation of performance.

-Conduct and attend meetings as mandated by the PIAA, the Conference, and as assigned by the Athletic Director or assigned principal.

-Plan and schedule, in coordination with the Athletic Director, all practices and recommend use of facilities.

-Maintain accurate and timely records as mandated by the PIAA, the Conference, and as directed by the Athletic Director.

-Acquire and maintain First Aid and CPR certification yearly (provided by Central York School District), and administer emergency treatment of injuries in the absence of a trainer, physician, or other person more qualified than him/herself.

-Safeguard all equipment and facilities to assure safety and proper use.

-Maintain an up-to-date and accurate inventory of all equipment and supplies used in the sport. Annually prepare and submit a detailed requisition for equipment and supplies needed for the  following year to the Athletic Director.

-Promote positive self-esteem and climate among all participants and provide for appropriate recognition of student-athlete achievement in accordance with District, Conference and PIAA standards and practices.

-Promote appropriate use of language.

-Complete additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or assigned principal

QUALIFICATIONS:
-Must demonstrate the ability to be organized and have good communication skills
-Must have ( or willing to obtain) current PA Criminal, PA Child Abuse and FBI Criminal History Background Checks

Hampton Township School District 

Supplemental Coach Position – Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse Head Coach

2025-2026 School Year
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Hampton Township School District is seeking a skilled, knowledgeable, energetic, and committed leader for the High School Varsity Girls’ Lacrosse Head Coaching position for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and lead the High School Girls’ Lacrosse Program for grades 9-12, ensuring cohesive skill and program development across all grade levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assembling their coaching staff; coordinating the Varsity and JV Teams with the athletic director, as well as the off-season programs in accordance with WPIAL/PIAA regulations.
- Develop a vision for the Hampton Girls’ Lacrosse program.
- Leadership, development, and supervision of all Girls' Lacrosse coaches, grades 9-12.
- Lead and develop all student-athletes within the Hampton Girls Lacrosse program.
- Successfully work with the Booster Organization.
- Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling a complete and competitive schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous head coaching experience at the high school level (or above) preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fundamentals, strategy, rules, sportsmanship, and character
- Ability to communicate effectively with players, colleagues, and parents
- Evidence of experience in building a positive culture amongst players, coaches, and parents/community.
- Knowledge of PIAA and WPIAL rules and regulations.
- Knowledge and experience with HUDL
- Has all required clearances and background checks as outlined below.

SALARY:
Dependent upon experience and in accordance with the terms of the current negotiated agreement between the Hampton Township School District and the Hampton Township Education Association.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
If the Hampton Township School District does not currently employ the successful applicant for this position, it will be necessary to secure requisite clearances in compliance with the mandatory background checks, including the following: Act 34 - Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Check as amended by Act 24 of 2011, Act 151 - Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Record Check, Act 114 - Federal Criminal History Record Check (fingerprint check), Mandated Reporter Training (Act 126), and the Act 168 Disclosure Release (Pre-employment Sexual Abuse/Misconduct Disclosure).

  • Proven experience in coaching

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire athletes of all ages.
  • Experience working with students or children in a coaching or mentoring capacity.
  • Certification in sports coaching or relevant fields is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
