Do What You Say

10/15/13

First let me apologize since it has been a couple weeks since we have spoken. Our attention has been diverted to some items that take away from our focus and that is people trying to get around rules or attempting to take advantage of situations to justify their poor behaviors.

But we are back on point and the simple truth is this....we do what we do, as agreed upon by the membership. We say what we say, what we are going to do and we do what we say. These are the rules of fair play. They apply to all of us and we do it every day, every week, every month, without reservation.

So, that brings us here, we are on the cusp of post-season competition; golfers and tennis players are well into their elimination rounds to determine who is the best in Pennsylvania. Congratulations to all of those who advance and a tip of our cap to those who pushed them to get there and just fell short of the qualifying standard.

So as we move forward, we remember what we are, who we represent and why we play. The interscholastic sports’ experience is different than any other athletic experience because it is an extension of the classroom.

Teaching life lessons on fair play; good sportsmanship and good health. We promote, protect and conserve the educational values of interscholastic competition and ensure the uniformity of standards on a statewide membership basis. We are high school and 350,000 athletes and 1450 schools strong and doing the right things for young people who learn our lessons every day.

Interscholastic athletics: Where we do what we say every day.
