Principles and Principals

10/30/13

This has been quite a month. It's a month of principles. It's cancer awareness month. We've had so many cancer benefit games it's difficult to keep up with all of them. All of these games and benefits are supported by our association to assist those in need in their communities.

Each and every one of us have encountered a disease, an illness, an affliction that has affected all of us and our families and friends. Here's a salute to all that have attempted to help a classmate, a friend, a family member, a community member, a stranger, a cause; all in the spirit of making our communities a little better today, tomorrow and forever.

That brings us to our Principals. October is Principal recognition month. It is a month that has been designated by the Principals' Association as well as our Legislature to recognize those individuals who keep our schools efficient, on task, safe and the central focus of our communities. Great schools have great principals. Yes indeed.

We all need to thank them for their efforts. None of us would be able to read and comprehend this without them. So instead of criticizing a school and its administration, stand up and be counted and support them. Have their back; be positive and you'll be tremendously surprised how having a positive attitude and supporting their efforts to educate our children will assist to make our communities better, stronger and vibrant.

Congratulations to Dr. Bill Hartman and his leadership to our principals' associations and a good luck wish to his successor, Dr. Paul Healy. May the road be filled with good tidings and optimism.

Together we can stand up to cancer and we can stand up to make our schools and communities better. We are all principle based.
