It is with great sadness that PIAA informs its membership and registered sports officials of the passing of Mario J. Donnangelo on Monday, April 12, 2010. Mario is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Debbie and Suzie, and four grandchildren.

Mario served PIAA as a registered soccer and basketball official since 1959, and served as PIAA Statewide Soccer Rules Interpreter since the 1970's. He was a cornerstone of the officials' education program for PIAA, the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association (NISOA). His contributions are immeasurable to each Association and the many individuals he has touched over the years. He will be missed by all that he came in contact with as Mario was a great ambassador for student-athletes and sports officials.
