It has been reported to PIAA by Shippensburg University that schools, athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators who are traveling to the 2009 PIAA Track and Field Championships on Thursday, for registration and practice, and Friday, for competition, need to be aware of road construction on PA Rt. #174 (Walnut Bottom Road) that may cause lengthy delays. PA Rt. #174 is accessed off of I-81 South via Exit #29, the King Street Exit.

Attending schools, athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators may want to consider two options for travel into Shippensburg University:

• Follow I-81 South past the King Street exit to Exit #24, the Fayette Street Exit and access Shippensburg University from there; or

• Exit I-81 South at Exit #37, the Newville exit, and travel into Shippensburg University via US Rt. #11 South.

Travel for Saturday, although slowed, does not have any construction issues since crews will not be working on Saturday.
