DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS, STUDENT ACTIVITIES AND FACILITIES

The Ephrata Area School District is accepting applications for a Director of Athletics, Student Activities and Facilities starting the 2024-2025 school year.

The Director of Athletics, Student Activities and Facilities will establish a positive school environment. They will emphasize educational goals and communicate regulations governing interscholastic activities. They will inform activity advisors and athletic coaches, student body, parents, and fans of specific expectations.  

The Director is the face of the athletic program at the Ephrata Area School District and a visible representative in the community.  The Director must model the highest ideals of student activities and athletic competition and work to see that all advisors, coaches, and teams live up to the highest standards of sportsmanship. They will promote a vision for athletes that is consistent with the district mission. He or she works through the development and formation of advisors, coaches and athletes and assesses the direction and achievement of the student and athletic programs.

The Director facilitates and encourages positive relationships between the athletics department and the Ephrata Community.

The Director is responsible for processing and organizing internal and external facility use requests and works with other community organizations (i.e.. Maintenance and the recreation center) in the care and preparation of athletic fields. 

The Director works to maintain a connection between the goals of the athletic department and the mission of the school. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience as an effective coach, leader, and athletic administrator and is an individual who is organized, communicates well, collaborates with others, and stands for sportsmanship and fair play. This is a full-time, 12-month position.
