The NFHS National Student Leadership Conference will be held from Thursday, July 15 to Sunday, July 18, 2010, in Indianapolis, IN at the Indianapolis Hilton Hotel. The NFHS anticipates participation from all member state high school associations, with an expected attendance of 300 student delegates from around the nation. PIAA is pleased to be sending three (3) girls and three (3) boys from across Pennsylvania who meet the following criteria:

• Preferably entering grades 10 or 11 in the fall of 2010;
• Possess leadership skills;
• Able to relate to students from a variety of social backgrounds;
• Highly motivated and enthusiastic;
• Capable of being an effective presenter and/or facilitator; and
• An ability to interact well one-on-one in small groups of students.

The conference registration, housing, and all meals are free to registered student-delegates from a grant by T-Mobile USA, Inc,.

The NFHS National Student Leadership Conference provides a forum for student and adult leaders to discuss contemporary issues facing education-based athletics and activities. Through interactive, large- and small-group discussions, these leaders will learn to promote:

• Respect;
• Positive Values;
• Sportsmanship;
• Teamwork;
• Healthy Lifestyles;
• Community Service; and
• Provide Perspective.

College facilitators will deliver the curriculum and lead the delegates in their breakout group discussions. In addition, they will participate in a citywide community service project that will benefit the Indianapolis metropolitan community.
