Background Clearances
- Applicants convicted of, or who pled guilty or no contest to, any felony of the first, second, or third degree shall not be registered by PIAA unless a period of ten years has elapsed from the date of expiration of the sentence for the offense. Applicants convicted of, or who pled guilty or no contest to, any other misdemeanor of the first degree shall not be registered by PIAA unless a period of five years has elapsed from the date of expiration of the sentence for the offense. Applicants convicted of, or who pled guilty or no contest to, more than one first degree misdemeanor under 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3802 relating to driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance shall not be registered by PIAA unless a period of three years has elapsed from the date of expiration of the sentence for the most recent offense.
